Akrivi Vagena has been teaching since 2007 in Greek Professional Training Institutes in Athens, in the departments of Tourism Management and Hospitality Studies. She has also taught at the Higher Technological Institute of Piraeus in the Department of Tourism Business Administration and in the Ministry of Tourism, in post-training programs for tourism employees. She is also an accredited adult trainer in tourism and gastronomy. Furthermore, she has taught in many training programs organized by HATTA, Hotel Chambers, Chambers of Commerce and numerous Educational Organizations Akrivi Vagena is a PhD Candidate at the University of Patras in the Department of Business Administration and her PhD Thesis is on the creation of a model system for quality assessment and hotel classification in star categories. She completed her postgraduate studies at the Hellenic Open University and the subject of her dissertation was the administration of education in the hospitality industry. She is a certified inspector of the official hotel rating system in Greece and a tourism consultant. Also, has participated in many mystery guest inspection programs in hotels and restaurants as well. Her research interests focus on the field of Tourism Business Administration, Tourism Development and Tourism Innovations. Her work has been published in scientific journals and she has written articles in Greek and international press. She has participated in many projects and surveys, concerning tourism and hospitality as a researcher and consultant. Also, since 2021 she belongs to the organizing committee of the 3win Congress.
