This  paper is theoretical research and attempts to analyse and summarise the knowledge on sustainable tourism development and specify the hotel’s operation sustainability problems and best practices they use for environmental protection.

Tourism, climate change and other factors have already significantly impacted the environment. For example, in 1998, Seychelles lost 90% of its coral reefs in a major coral bleaching event as a result of rising sea temperatures. As tourism has affected parts of the environment of tourism destinations, the need to protect the environment before it is too late emerging more urgently than ever.
